We have been serving the Delhi-Haridwar route for over 20 years, and thousands of happy pilgrims have made this sacred journey with us.
The 230 kms drive from Delhi to Haridwar takes you through some of western UP's most historically significant towns. Departing from your Delhi hotel at 5:00-6:00 AM - we pick up from Hotels, your home, Railway Station and IGI Airport. On The way a short break for a breakfast, Our drivers make one strategic stop near Muzaffarnagar for morning chai and parathas at a roadside dhaba(Restaurant).
Your first stop in Haridwar is the Har Ki Pauri, the most sacred ghat in the city and one of the holiest bathing spots in all of India. The ghat is maintained by the Ganga Sabha, and the waters here are remarkably clean compared to downstream stretches of the Ganges. Many pilgrims take a holy dip (snaan) in the sacred waters our driver can help you find a changing room facility nearby. The ghat complex extends along the river with ghats for both bathing and the famous aarti ceremony.
Next, you visit the Mansa Devi Temple, one of the most sacred "Shaktipeeths" in North India. The temple can be reached via a cable car (ropeway), with a round-trip fare of approximately ₹130. The cable car ride offers spectacular views of Haridwar's temples, the Ganges flowing through the city, and the surrounding hills. Mansa Devi is revered as the goddess who fulfills wishes; devotees tie sacred threads to a tree at the temple and return to untie them once their prayers are answered. After visiting Mansa Devi, many tourists also take the ropeway to the Chandi Devi Temple, situated on Neel Parvat. This is another significant "Shaktipeeth" located on a hill on the opposite side of the city, offering equally magnificent views.
Lunch in Haridwar is strictly vegetarian; s a revered holy city, Haridwar warmly welcomes visitors to embrace its traditions, where the consumption of non-vegetarian food and alcohol is respectfully avoided. The best places to eat are located around the main market and Har Ki Pauri. We recommend 'Mohan Ji Puri Wale' for their famous "chole-bhature" and "aloo-puri", or for a traditional "thali". Haridwar is also known for its delicious sweets; do try the "malpua" and *rabri* from the shops near Moti Bazaar. The food here is fresh, affordable, and prepared with devotion.
The highlight of a visit to Haridwar is the mesmerising Ganga Aarti at 'Har Ki Pauri,' held every evening at sunset typically between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM, depending on the season. Thousands of devotees gather here as priests perform a grand fire ritual with large brass lamps, accompanied by the chanting of mantras and the resounding peal of temple bells. The sight of lamps floating on the Ganges, the fragrance of incense and camphor, and the collective spiritual energy of the crowd combine to create a truly extraordinary and ethereal experience. Our tour is scheduled so that you arrive at 'Har Ki Pauri' between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM, allowing you to secure a good viewing spot before the Aarti begins.
